Biography

Joshua "Dowsey" Dowse is an Esports Gaming Commentator for Vainglory.

Joshua "Dowsey" Dowse was born on the 16th of February, 1994 in Bathurst, Australia. He grew up in Sydney Australia until his family moved to Manchester in the United Kingdom in 2008 and he has lived there since. Dowsey graduated from Staffordshire University in 2016 with a BSc(Hons) Film Production Technology (1st Class).

Shoutcasting Career

2015

Dowsey started casting League of Legends in September, covering amateur community tournaments in the UK. His first LAN casting gig was Insomnia56 in December.

2016

In January, Dowsey joined the NUEL's broadcast team covering UK collegiate esports. Throughout 2016, he built his way up the ranks, moving on to working with UK powerhouses ESLUK, GinxTV, Multiplay. In July, Dowsey started covering Counter-Strike: Global Offensive events.

Dowsey won the ECS Community Casting Challenge for CSGO in September, where he competed against 100s of other casters. As a result, he worked with FACEIT, StarLadder and Kinguin on various Tier 1/Tier 2 CSGO events.

2017

Dowsey joined Super Evil MegaCorp’s broadcast team for Vainglory in March and has since covered the Vainglory 8 in Europe and North America, as well as their respective challenger series leagues.

Trivia

  • Reached Vainglorious on the 8th April 2017, after playing the game for less than four months.
  • Before becoming a shoutcaster, Dowsey was known for his Minecraft content on his youtube channel.
